Yeah the problem is actually running queries via the "new" query analyzer
that is built into management studio will run indefinately when you actually
run a custom query against the db, like simple select. But if you use
management studio to look at table properties and open up dbs using the GUI
it works fine. The way i got it to work was to restart the service.... but
does anyone know why this would happen?

I'm not sure I understand. If you can "open tables, see dbs, open
properties", you are running queries against the server.
Are you having problem querying the server via a specific client tool?

Have any of you ever run across a problem in SQL Server 2005 running an
active/passive cluster on Windows 2003 SP1 Enterprise, where you can
connect

properties.
Everything runs fine with the exception of being able to run queries
against
the server? Does anyone know what might cause this kind of issue to
happen?
