Dear gurus,
i need help!!
i want to setup a clustering environment using two nodes and connected
to a storage.
scenario:
i've setup both node with Windows 2003 R2 EE SP1 and installed with
SQL Server 2005 EE.
i've setup both server as an AD with same domain controller name but
with different NETBios name. configure the private NIC as documented
in microsoft best practise for windows clustering. configure a static
IP for public NIC in both server. i ping the server with ip->success.
ping with host name->failed.
1- for the storage: is it possible for me to have a high end server or
use a NAS as a storage for a temporary? since we still dont have a
budget to get SAN box asap.currently both server doesnt have HBA card.
2- do i need to setup an AD to both node as a step to get into the
cluster environment?
3- if not: so i can join my current live AD to doing that? how do i?
and that's mean i need to remove AD role from both server.
4- if yes: can u give me a guide on how to setup the cluster service.
since i've been trying to include 2 node to the 1st node->and failed.
anyone can guide me the step by step to setup windows 2003 clustering
using msn messenger. because it more easier for me to do in live
guidance.(as an option if possible)
my msn : mohdredhahamzah@xxxxxxxxxxx
thanks in advance.
