Hello thereTechnically, the "Cluster" issues gloabal LooksAlive and IsAlive checks to each virtual server. The exact nature of the checks varies depending on the nature of the virtual application (SQL, Exchange, File SErvice, etc.) The "Cluster" is actually a virtual construction handled by the cluster service on each node. So your question really does not have any meaningful answer.
From some offical documentation about sql server failover clustering i've understand that sql service manager do checkes of IsAlive on each node.
On which mechine it exist on.
Virtual Server is a product for virtualization but is unrelated to clustering. Clustering creates "Virtual Servers", which are unique to clustering but are not the same as a Virtual Server for pure virtualization. In programming, "Virtual Server" would be considered an overloaded operator.
And do i install virtual server on the nodes and not sql server?
and where do i install sql server?First create the cluster. Then install SQL on a node that owns the disk resource you wish to use as your first data disk. If you create a Clustered install, SQL will handle installing on the remaining nodes "behind the scenes".
