SQLServer Agent Properties/Connection/Windows-SQL Auth

Books online says clearly that on the SQLServer agent properties
(Connection tab) you should select Windows authentication if you are
running on NT or Windows 2000. It doesnt't say why. My version of Books
doesn't give a recommendation for Windows 2003.

Most of our instances don't seem to care which way it is set. Works
either way. I have one (of several) clustered instance where the agent
won't start if set to SQL Server auth. Failover fails too.

3 questions.
1. Anybody know why the recommendation is for Windows authentication?
2. Anybody got a guess why one cluster cares and others don't?
3. What is the recommendation for Windows 2003?
