Microsoft has a practice and a policy to treat all storage vendors the same.
So, you won't find anything official from Microsoft that compares advantages
and disadvantages of different storage systems. You won't find anything
unofficial either as they are very careful to adhere to this policy. I
strongly recommend having your VAR provide a resource that is familiar with
your preferred storage system in a SQL clustered environment. While I am
not personally familiar with the Shark SAN, I do know that there are
specific setup steps on at least two other brands that yield significant
performance increases for SQL Server 2000 on Windows Server 2003. This
expertise should be part of the service (the Value Added part of VAR) when
you purchase a SAN. If they cannot provide access to such an expert, I
suggest that you keep looking.
