2) Two Virtual Servers
3) Poorly.
In practice, You will likely allow each SQL Server to use an entire host
node's resources, knowing that there is a "spare" node available during a
failover. When a failover occurs, I typically reset the memory requirements
for each instance so I can "stack" muptiple instances on the same node. I
always have alerting to detect when a failover occurrs so someone can pay
immediate attention to the problem.
