EVA defragmentation.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi,

We have a HP EVA 5000. SQL 2000 Cluster is using 150 GB(Drive R:) on the EVA
for all database files. I want to defragment Drive R:. Fýrst I intend to
stop SQL Server and SQL Server Agent, then backup up all system and user
databases to Tape Backup(.mdf and .ldf files).Alternatively I may firstly
detach the user databases and then back them up. Next I will delete all user
database files from Drive R: and make sure no processes are accessing Drive
R:. Next I will run the defragmentation utility. Finally I will
restore(attach) the user databases. Are there any risks/pitfalls in my
action plan ?
What would be the best way to handle this matter ?

Best Regards.
