Hi Phil,
Thanks for the update.
I would like to know are you using Distribute Transcation. If so, I think
you should also configure the DTC security in your SQL 2005 Server.
Please do the following to enable DTC in your server and client.
RAN dcomcnfg -> Component Service -> Computers - My Computer - > Properties
->
MSDTC -> Security Configuration -> Network DTC ACCESS.
