Sure, that's supported and works fine. However, one of the two installs will
need to be a named instance. SQL Server 2005 Books Online (BOL) talks about
working with multiple versions of SQL Server installed on the same computer.
If you don't have a local copy of BOL, you can start here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143694(SQL.90).aspx, and explore
a bit.
