SQL Error: Text file size of zero

When I attempt to import a text file or flat file in sql I get an error that the file is of size zero. I installed it the same day on a Hewlett Packard machine and the text file import works fine. I have downloaded all the updates, reinstalled sql and xp twice. So i know thats not a possibility. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with dells or if it is a common install error.
