SQL Server 2k from Pocket PC Running Compact Edition 3.5

I have a pocket pc applicaiton. When craddled, I'm able to download data
from a remote server -- only if I hardcode my userid and password. If I pass
in my userid and password it fails to connect w/ error: mobile device
specified server not found sqlconnection
.. Any suggestions?
