hi folks,
the scenario is.

pda with our application running on it that connects to a sql server
database on a pc. the connection is made via sqlce and iis and is on an
802.11b network. pc is an xp machine and running kerio firewall.

now, when i have the pc patched onto the internal network everything works
great. no errors.. nothing!
but, when i change the ip address and patch the pc onto an external port i
get some strange problems.

i can pull some of the tables individually no problem but, when i pull one
particular table i get a 80004005 error (28015 minor) - a secure sockets
(ssl) connection is reqd..... once this error has been triggered i cannot
then pull any of the tables at all - till i restart my application when i
can repeat the scenario again.

put the pc back on the internal network and all the problems go away.

i have not configured anything to use ssl and am baffled as to why it should
occasionally think it has been configured.

Any help gratefully accepted.
many thanks
nigel
