Vista Sysprep Error

I am trying to capture of Vista Enterprise Edition but am having some
trouble. When I insert the capture CD I created with OSD, the Image
Capture Wizard starts up and works fine. It is when Sysprep starts
that I get the error. During the "Processing Cleanup phase Sysprep
plugins..." step a window pops up saying "A fatal error occurred while
trying to sysprep the machine." The two lines from the
C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\panther\setuperr.log are
Error [0x0f0073] SYSPRP RunExternalDlls:Not running DLLs; either
the machine is in an invalid state or we couldn't update the recorded
state, dwRet = 31
Error [0x0f00a8] SYSPRP WinMain:Hit failure while processing
sysprep cleanup providers; hr = 0x8007001f
I have read that people have been having this problem on a few kinds of
Dells, but they fix the problem by removing the generalize tag or by
uninstalling the SoundMax driver. I am doing this on a Virtual Server
that is run on an HP server, and it still fails with the same error
when I remove the generalize tag.
Another possible cause I read is that this happens when sysprep has
been run more that three times on the computer, but I doubt this is the
case because I have been getting this error since the first attempt.
Any and all suggestions would be a huge help.
Thanks,
Nick
