WIM Image failing periodically on certain machines

Hey All,

This is an interesting issue. I'm doing a mass deployment of WinXP SP2
from Windows 2000 using the OSD.

Now, it appears as if certain specific machines are having problems.
They all have 3Com NICs and the same motherboard I believe. So a
majority install fine, but these ones keep randomly failing on the WIM
image copy - it can run for minutes or seconds before failing, and
never on the same file. I've got a log from last night, which failed
several times before running successfully.

The WIM copy of WinPE in Windows 2000 itself can fail. During WinPE for
RIS or a refresh of an existing machine this problem having. We have
two different SMS servers in different sites, one is Windows 2000 and
the other is Windows Server 2003 - they clients both fail in the same
way. These machines can run a normal RIS install of Windows just fine,
so it appears to be something specific with regards WIM files. So....

1. Is anyone aware of problems with OSD, WIMs & 3Com NICs?

2. When the WIM image copy fails, it gives a 30 minute countdown. Is
there anyway to reduce this? I already use a script to set the 60
secound countdown when done to 0, so I am hopeful this can also be
changed. If it was reduced, then it would retry my often and would work
eventually.
