Generally if the machine fails to join without any error message at all, it
probably didn't even try. I've only seen this in cases where the network
driver wasn't there, was broken (e.g. Broadcom driver but without the right
PnP ID; it "almost" works), or didn't have an IP address - these make
joining a domain impossible. Can you take a look at the
%WINDIR%\Debug\Netsetup.log to see if it recorded any attempt to join? Can
you check device manager to make sure the network card is installed OK?
