Clients Stop Receiving Advertisements

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

We are experiencing a fairly common occurance within our SCCM 2007 R2
environment where a seemingly perfectly healthy client will stop receiving
new advertisements and no new entries appear in the execmgr log file.
Repairing the ConfigMgr client usually resolves the problem but I really need
to identify the cause. I can't seem to find any errors in any logs and in
all other respects the client appears to be functioning fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this or any suggestions
as to how I can troubleshoot it further.
