More stuff on the "How"... look at program properties; pay particular
attention to the choices of "whether or not a user is logged in", or only
when a user is logged in or no user logged in, and the credentials (use user
credentials or system credentials); and the check box to allow user to
interact with the program. It's possible you've set conflicting rules; i.e.,
"Only when no user is logged in", would mean it cannot be displayed in "Run
Advertised Programs".
Oh... and passing on some hard-won knowledge; just because you can run the
install using your DOMAIN\user credentials, doesn't necessarily mean that SMS
could successfully install the package "whether or not a user is logged in",
using system credentials. You will need to test that.
A couple log files I always look at; on the client--
policyagent.log / policyevaluator.log ; depending upon where I am in
testing, showing me when a new policy or updated policy has been retrieved,
then showing me when that policy has been evaluated. It's a long string of
characters, but your PackageID and AdvertisementID are usually part of the
policy identifier.
Then of course execmgr.log on the client--shows any in-progress executions.
Other tools I use is clispy.exe from SMS Toolkit 2, and of course Roger
Zander's SMS Client Center.

there is a folder c:\SMSPKGC$ that I can open from the client side, in
which there is a folder with the package I made. I can actually copy
the setup.exe that is in this folder an run it locally.
When is XX available = The Advertisement time(s).

time on the client)

How does the package get installed=.....
I have a simple setup.exe which includes everything the
installation needs. I am logged in the client PC with the domain
administrator account and I am able to run this setup.exe locally. At
this moment I do not want anything to run silently, I want to see that
the setup.exe delivered by the server is actually running.
By the way, which log files on each side give the correspondent
information for distribution software?
