You can also place the serial number in the MST along with your other
settings to make everything simple, this is what we did.

Hi Sherry.
This worked, you are correct: the serial number must be added to the
installation command line "ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx".
Adding this to the ini file does not work at all.
Problem has now been solved
Many thanks to all that replied

According to http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=189, for
Acrobat Standard, to add the serial number to the installation command
line add ISX_SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

Hi
Might it be a license issue ? You say that manually you had to enter the
license key. Is this one defined in a mst or the adobe ini ? Try installing
with /qb+ so you see when it fails. If it does not find a correct license, it
won't install, although i didn't find exactly what error message this returns.

hi - thanks good idea but it was already running unter admin rights

Hi
this is probably due to lack of admin priviledges during the install.
be sure to check that use of admin rights are selected for the program.

Hi
I am trying to push out Acrobat Standard 6.0 via SMS 2003 sp1
I have tried it from a "PACKAGE FROM DEFINITION" and also a standard
package, each time it fails with this error:
The program for advertisement "S002012B" failed ("S00000F5" - "Acrobat
Standard 6.0"). A failure exit code of 1603 was returned.
User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each
program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status
Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the
program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 1603 is considered a
failure.
Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation
for the program you are distributing.
Any one got any ideas ? it is ONLY this application that is failing - all
other s are working fine
