RE: Office 2007 Enterprise Install?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Yes, my msp file is in the root of the office install folder.
[folder]access.en-us
[folder]admin
[folder]catalog
....
autorun.ini
config.bat (my file)
install.bat (my file)
office2007.msp
read.htm
setup.exe

if you want to send it to me to check, assume this doesn't fix it please
email me at

Matt, thanks for your help! You are going above and beyond. Are you placing
your msp in the root of the install folder or the Updates folder? I havent
tried it in the root.

If you want to you can pull your key out of the config file, save it under
and new name and send it to me, or I can send you mine.

Matt, when you run the Enterprise version you are presented with a Console UI
which asks the user which sets of programs does it want to install. I think
the answer is in the config.xml file under Enterprise.ww. What confuses me is
this file seems to apply the same types of setting accomplished through the
customization tool.
Well, I might have bite the bullett and get my Microsoft rep on the phone
for some quality time!

If you confirmed that it asks the users questions such as click next and such.
Check the "Licesing and user interface" as a part of the customization tool.
Check the Accept license agreement
Display level: none - it will run quietly
Check : suppress Modal - if there is an error it will just close, no user
popup of an install problem.

See if this works, what is is prompting for?

Matt, thanks so much for your response! Setting the "Allow user interaction"
did allow the application selection console to run and I can install from
there. however, my desire is to supress any user interaction and certainly
the impression they are selecting their applications when that is being
accomplished through an attached msp file.
I have posted to the Office group also to see if there is a switch I can run
to supress or bypass the selection console as i havent found it in the
documentaion.
Appreciate the help!

So you can see in SMS that is it trying to start the package but it never
completes. Have you tried to add a /* Mylog.log to your msiexec line and
then as soon as it kicks off check the cache folder or on the dp if your
installing it over the network.

You might try to download it to the computer cache and see if it kicks of
then, if you still have problem use the log switch and see what is going on.
another thing would be to turn on Interact with program so you can see if an
error popup or if some reason it is waiting for a user input.

Group, I have been working all week on setting up a Office 2007 install for
my company. I have copied the Enterprise CD up to the network share, I have
the packages setup correctly, I can run setup.exe via command line but when I
advertise out the package via SMS its a no go. It's odd, i can see the events
fire in event viewer and setup kicks off in task manager, but then it sits
there and doesnt runn. I have .msp files in teh updtaes folder but setup
seems to just stop. I do suspect its related to behavior I notice when
running the app manually. it seems to always run a application selection
console that requires input but I cant be sure thst is the probelm.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
