Yes I did open the SMS console on the SMS site server and the given info. was
found. So you mean I have to install ITMU v3 and if yes how and from where?
Would it required to restart the SMS server?
Thanks

It mean one of two things..
Did you open the SMS console on the SMS site server? if not you will not see
the ITMU version. if you did then it suggest that ITMU v3 is not installed.

Garth this is what I found:
Version information:
Site Server - 2.50.4160.2000 (4160)
Admin UI - SMS 2.50 SP1 (3174)
SMS Provider - 2.50.4160.2000

The most recent version of ITMU is version 2.5.3616. To check what
version
you currently have installed, open the Systems Management Server
Administrator Console. Right-click the Site Database node, select About
Systems Management Server ., choose Versions>> and then scroll down in
the
Version Information box until you see SMS 2003 Inventory Tool for
Microsoft
Updates(Admin UI).

We have SMS 2003 server as follow:
Version information:
Site Server - 2.50.4160.2000 (4160)

SMS Provider - 2.50.4160.2000
What I want to do is push Windows/office updates to all our clients
machines. So I have downloaded windows/office updates and saved it on
the
network drive where this SMS server is running from.
Then I created collections and packages and advertisment but in the
System
status is showed it failed.
Any help...ideas....would be greately appreciated as I am totally new
to
this SMS.
Notes:
I don't know if this SMS server has ITMU installed and how can I tell
if
there is ITMU?
Thanks in advanced!
