Package - Data Access tab best practices

Anyone have best practice or general guidelines regarding the settings on
the Package Properties-->Data Access tab?

Occasionally we have to point our helpdesk to the install source of a
particular package. We currently use the option "Access distribution folder
through common SMS package share" which creates a folder name to match the
package ID. Occasionally we have to direct helpdesk to a particular package
ID for a manual install. It would be nice to use the option "Share
distribution folder" so I could direct helpdesk to a meaningful share name.
Anyone have any opinion on this?
