Distribution process question

Hi,

I would like to have some help, the point is this:

A customer is doing the following:

They have one SMS server (sms001) with a distribution point enabled.
They created a package, for instance winzip with source folder
\\FS001\packages\winzip
FS001 is not a distribution point, in the folder they created a batch
file called command.bat which runs the setup from the FS001 location.
The program in SMS is \\FS001\packages\winzip\command.bat

So in my opinion they don't use the distributionpoint and the
advantages the DP offers like BITS. Is this correct? I need to come
with good arguments to make my point clear.

Other question: Is there a realtionship between an inventory and the
'as soon as possible' option in an advertisement.

Thanks in advanced,
Sniper
