Opinions for advertisement of packages

i took a course a few months back for SMS 2003. I wasn't that thrilled as
the instructor seemed to be a 'by the book' person with little extra to add
from his own experience. Anyway, enough venting. I had asked the instructor
how one handles a failed package installation due to client issues. For
example, if I send out an advertisement as mandatory it will attempt to run
the program only once citing a success or failure. If the package fails to
install what is the best procedure(s) to take after the client issue has been
resolved. Instructor indicated you had to recreate a new advertisement,
which I know is wrong given the installation failure is based on the package
id, not the advertisement. So, just looking for a few thoughts on best
practices to handle this situation. Thanks!
