I have configured my setup with collections linked to active directory
security groups. This in essence works fine, I associated an advert with a
collection and when I put a computer in an AD security group the collections
get updated and the software deployed. I have also set up collections and
groups to remove software, this also works fine, but this is where I run into
the problem.
If I then put the same machine in to the distribution group again, the
collection is updated but the software is not deployed. My investigation show
that in order to be able to redeploy the application the advert has to have a
schedule i.e. it will redistribute the software on a set date or after a set
period of time. This means that regardless of whether the application is
installed or not it will be redistributed as per the schedule.
If I set up a schedule on the advert it works fine but this would mean that
the application is redeployed again. Is there anyway of stopping an app from
being deployed when it already exists ?
