The synchost machine should have an internet connection to download the
catalog. Since in your case you don;t have the connection hence its failing
to download.
The workaround would be to do the task done by synctool manually and that
means -
1> Download the catalog(mssecure.cab) from the link provided in the
download.ini file ( http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=23190) using a
machine that has internet connection.
2> Copying this file to the corresponding folder in the packagesource(for
ENU catalog it will be ..\PackageSrc\1033)
3> From the admin console, do an update DP
Once these steps have been performed, either wait for the next scan ad run
or schedule them again. You need to do the above mentioned steps everytime a
new catalog is released.
FYI.. Following the above steps you won't get the newly added feature in SMS
2003 SP1 of pre-populating the database prior to the inventory, but it
doesn't matter for your test run.
