SCCM 2007 and Novell clients

Hi,

We have a question concerning the installation of SCCM in our environment.

We have a client that at the present time has a Novell NDS environment. In
the following months they intend to migrate the Novell infrastructure to a
Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 Active Directory domain. But before we do the
migration we would like to have an inventory of all the software installed
on the Windows XP workstations.

Here's our question.
Can we create an Active Directory domain and in that domain install SCCM
2007 with SQL 2005 on a Windows server and be able to install the agent on
the Novell clients even if those clients ARE NOT members of the AD domain.
Or do the clients MUST be member of the domain to be able to manage those
clients?
