Sometimes, after adding the server computer names into each other's local
Administrators groups, you have to reboot in order for that membership to be
"active". Have you tried that since adding in the admin group?
It could also be DNS lookup issues. When you ping the secondary server name
from the primary server, does it look right? If the Primary can't resolve to
the secondary's name, it could simply be DNS stuff.
Otherwise, sometimes what has worked for me in the past is I had a corrupt
(somehow) Sender address. On the primary/parent, delete the sender address,
wait a few minutes, then add it back. Make sure you are carefully spell the
Secondary Site Server name when you create the sender. Not that I've ever
done that before. Twice. ;-)

Have a new installation of SCCM 2007 sp1 no previous sms existed. Right now I.
have 2 primary sites parent/child setup and a secondary site separated by a
WAN. The parent/child primaries communicate with no issues but the secondary
site does not appear on it's parent. I installed via the SCCM CD directly on
the secondary no errors showed up. I have have the secondary in the boundary
of the parent server. I even tried creating a sender address manually but the
secondary shows up as BOS -Unknown so I know it's not working.
I have the sender logs on each pc but I am not seeing anything that to me
appears to be a error.
I have put the servers as admin in each other's local admin groups
No firewall between servers.
Each server can ping the other
I didn't want to install over the wan and push from the primary unless i
have to.
