SCCM Boundary Config and Protected BDP's

Hi,

I've got the following site setup:

-Single 2003 AD Forest
-approx 30 offices
-Single Primary (Central) running SCCM 2007 SP1
-Approx 10 Secondary Sites (with their own AD Sites and Subnets assigned)
running SCCM 2007 SP1
-Approx 10 Remote sites with BDP's (with AD Sites but no Subnet assigned as
they are configured to use the Head Office's Infrastructure)

The boundary configuration on the Secondary sites is okay, the sites are
setup correctly in Active Directory Sites and Services and have subnets
assigned to them.

The sites that have BDP's do not have other local infrastructure (AD DC /
DNS etc) located at them so their AD Site is the same as the head office
where there is local infrastructure.

I prefer to use Active Directory sites to define boundaries whereever
possible but I think that this is not possible in this case for all sites as
the following situation exists:

PRI - Central Site
- 'Head Office' AD Site
SEC - Secondary Site
- 'Secondary Site' AD Site
Remote Site
- 'Remote Site' is configured in AD Sites and Services
- In AD Sites and Services the 'Remote Site''s Subnet is associated with
the 'Head Office' AD Site
- BDP Configured on PRI Central Site as Protected DP for 'Remote Site'

My question is if I configure the PRI Central Site to have an AD Site
Boundary of 'Head Office' then will the clients at 'Remote Site' know about
the protected BDP configured at 'remote site' or will they just talk straight
back to 'head office'?

I'm pretty sure that I can't use AD sites in this case and that I'll have to
use IP Subnet instead?

Thanks in advance for any assistance on this!
