RE: SCCM 2007 Client Install

The issue is resolved by myself and jusy in case anybody else is having the
same problem:
It is a corrupted WMI repository. Stop the WMI service, delete
%systemroot%\WBEM\repository directory and start WMI service to let it
rebuild the repository. Try ccmsetup again and it appears to be working fine
for me.
This is just my own experience so no guarantee for other people. This is a
suggestion from a experienced SMS guy and it really works.
Thanks.

We upgrade our SMS from 2003 to CM07 this year. By upgrade, I mean to fresh.
install 07 server on a Windows 2003 server, then do network discovery, then
use client push install to push out the new clients. I'm having problems on
some of the clients not getting the CM07 client installed. The client OS is
Win 2000 Pro, SP4. The clients meet BIT and WMI version requirements. I say
some clients so the exact procedure will work on some computers and won't
work on some computers. They are all running the same OS: Win2K Pro SP4 so I
guess there maybe other environment difference.
What happened is I start the push install and I will notice the ccmsetup.log
is updating. I will see MSXML 6.0 parser and WIMGAPI install complete in
windows event log but I never see configuration manager client install
complete. The ccmsetup.log and client.msi.log seems to hang at the end. The
last few lines of ccmsetup.log are:
