Allowing the WebDAV extension in IIS Manager fixed this for me.

Have you verified the installation prerequisites for installing the
management point site system on that server are present?
You could also post this question to the Configuration Manager Setup

first off i must say the upgrade from SMS 2003 -> SCCM 2007 was a very
simple process, within an hour of gettting in this morning i had
upgraded the server! very impressive.
BUT, i am now getting an error message in the console from the
"SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER"
error message: SMS Site Component Manager failed to install this
component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component
(MP.msi) could not install.
Refer to the MPSetup.log, the MPMSI.log, as well as the SMS
documentation and the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further information.
i have looked in the MPMSI.log file and have found "Internal Error
25056. 80004005".
has anybody else had this issue, is there anything i can do to correct
it?
Thanks
Steve
requirement, not sure exactly which one though.
If memory serves me well, it was the webdav requirement not being met.
