Re: sms 2003 advance clients in different AD forest ?

Kim,

Apparently all I was missing was adding the appropriate site name to the
Site Boundaries.

Thanks

Kim,

Yes I have defined an Advanced Client Network Access Account, however I
noticed in the logs:
"Advanced Client network access account is not available"
But I have tried accounts from both forests. Still does not work. It is
not even assigning the clients to the site. It says that they are not
assigned at all to any site.

Have you defined an advanced client network access account?

Site settings, component configuraion, software distribution.

Kim,

I also have 2 forests with a 2 way transitive trust between the domains, sms
is running in advanced security mode. Wins is configured with the site
information, and I have setup the security on the smsclient share as well as
the ntfs permissions. When I try to deploy the Advanced Client to
workstations in the other domain that the sms server is not located in, I get
the following error.

Failed to find accessible soure. Waiting for retry. and
\\servername\smscient\i386 is inaccessible.

Thanks

You'll have to either create an entry in wins so clients can find the mp
from there, or manually specify it in your client push installation tab
using

smsmp=Yourmp.foresta.domain

have to deploy any sms server in that domain if so the what role i have to
give to that sms server.

Please help me out & steps for doing that will be thankful.

You'll need to define an advanced client network access acount that is a
member of forest A.
