Thanks for your reply Steve.
But never mind; I had overseen a boundary, so overlapping site boundaries still exists.... Doohh....

The environment:
1 Central Site - C00
2 Primary child sites:
Site code: P01
Server name: Server1
Site code: P02
Server name: Server2
AD schema has been extended.
The P01 and P02 are configured with overlapping site boundaries based on IP-subnets.
Both site servers are configued as MP.
So, using the PolicySpy from SMS Tool kit 2 on a client assigned to P02 tells me that, the assigned MP is Server2 and the resident MP is Server1. Okay, that I understand because of the overlapping site boundaries. (I know that is bad, and that is acutally what I am trying to correct:-))
So, I remove the site boundary on the P01 site, so no overlapping site boundaries exists anymore.
Right -- overlapping site boundaries are a BAD thing... :)
Now here is the problem: I thought that the client will not use Server1 as it's resident MP anymore, since the client is no longer in the boundaries of the MP.... but that is not the case.... the client still uses the Server1 as it resident MP..... First, after uninstalling the MP on Server1, the client falls back to it's assigned MP (Server2)
Is this the way it is suppose to work ?
I believe the issue is an assignment one... once a client is assigned to an SMS site, it remains part of that site until re-assigned to another site. The advanced client will be able to locate other MP's based on location (and information in AD). If you re-assigned the client to the proper site (based on location), the MP should be the site's primary, or default MP.
