I think what Ifreet is trying to do is more like a site recovery operation.
If you have a site backup, and if the site server has the same name and
domain, you could restore.
See
Scenarios and Procedures for SMS 2003: Maintenance, Backup, and Recovery
for more details.

How can I install primary sms site and use already existing site
database.
When I'm trying to do that setup program says that database can be only
deleted or erased. What I should do for using data from that database
with
new sms installation?
Is this site database in use by another site? If so, you cannot.
If this old site database is no longer in use by an SMS site, delete it
and create a new database.
