here's my problem...
I have SMS installed on a virtual machine as a Primary site. I understand
that within that virtual environment I cannot install SMS roles on any
other
virtual machine. However, my question is does the "host machine can be a
SMS
site role, guest OS cannot" statement also mean that the SMS virtual OS
cannot also be the MP, DP, CAP, and SLP roles?
All SMS roles on one Virtual Server host? That should work OK and is
supported.
Also, I've got a client installed on a hard machine (non-virtual) and I
cannot get it to resolve the SMS site server name (virtual machine). This
could be due to Host/Guest machine setup in that the guest OS is not
sharing
the host OS NIC. However, assuming it is, does anyone know why the real
client cannot resolve the servername of the virtual SMS machine?
I think you answered your own question, the Virtual machine needs it's own
IP address, you aren't using NAT are you?
