Yes they are being discoverd with AD sicovery.
I have only few clients installed, i don't want to deploying clients until i
resolve this issue.

Yes, but where is it getting that information for the client properties? AD.
discovery?
If your local client is configured properly, ip address, subnet, dns
servers, etc. Check that the client can communicate with a management point.
Are there any clues in the clientlocation.log or locationservices.log
(client side)?

Steve thx for reply
my subnet mask is 24 bit ( 255.255.255.0) and I defined separate IP for
each
site in site boundaries and when i click on client properties the ip
subnet
is 10.11.0.0
even thou is not specified in Site boundaries.
I used sitebound.exe to import the subnets, it would take me forewer to
type
in all these IP sunbnets

I deployed SMS 2003 ( one central site, two primary and so far 21
secondary
sites). So far everything is fine but ( ofcourse):
problem with Site Assigment:
i am using only IP subnets to set Site boundaries. but i have some
clients,
better to say 40% of clients are not assigned. :( i made sure the site
boundaries are not overlapping and odd thing is lets say i have
clients
on
10.11.7.* subnet and one client with ip 10.11.7.88 is showing as
assigned
and
client with ip 10.11.7.77 is not assigned.
If i set 10.11.0.0 is Site Boundaries all of the clients get "assigned
=
yes" but that is not good setup cause i have a lot different sites
using
subnets 10.11.*.*. So i'd like to set up boundaries with acctual subnet
not
10.11.0.0 (wich includes every subnet)
any thoughts?
yes :)
any thoughts?
What is your subnet mask?? Client assignment is made based on the client
side ip address and subnet mask... so in your scenario if you had a
subnet
mask of:
255.255.0.0
all of those clients should assign.
However, if your subnet mask is:
255.255.255.0
you'll need to define a separate ip address for each class c boundary. Do
check out the sitebound.exe utility from the sms 2003 toolkit 2, it'll
allow
you to import/export lists of ip subnets.
