Have you checked that you've defined a valid SPN for your database?

Also, on your site server, you may need to add an SQL Server client utility
(cliconf) TCP/IP alias pointing to the remote SQL Server.

I cannot get the maintenance tasks to populate. I did a ton of
searching and have figured out what is most likely the issue but i
cannot find any information on it at all. Hopefully somone can give me
a hand to resolve this issue.

I have a site server and a remote SQL server. It is not using a named
instance but is running on SQL05, I have SMS2003 SP2 installed.
