Server Compnents.
How can this be?
Hi Lisa,
SMS requires an SQL Server database, it really does not have to be local to the SMS install, I made that recommendation because of ease of SMS installation, troubleshooting and support. Microsoft recommends installing both SMS and SQL Server on a single device, except for the largest sites...

Hi all,
I am doing the same thing, migrating SMS2003 from old server to new one, but I also have to migrate SQL 2000 to SQL 2005.
I have some reports, queries, collections and packages defined, so can I do actual migration or not?? Can I use Admin FP for something?
My idea is to migrate database from old to new server, and then install new SMS 2003 on new server. Will I have the same collections, reports and stuff on new SMS this way or not??
Thanks in advance
.
