Hi Steve,
have a look in the extadsch.log in the root of your c: drive. Domain admin
might not be sufficent to do the schema extension; you also need schema
admin priviliges.

Hi,
sorry to post this same error again.
i got this error too after install sms sp2. I had ran the extend schema
tool
in the SP2 and the log shows 'already exists' and completed successfully.
im
still getting the error. i saw other post about the schema attributes but
can
anyone clearly explain how to edit if this method is the solution.
error:
Systems Management Server cannot update the dNSHostName property for the
existing object "cn=SMS-MP-A01-SMS1" in Active Directory. This property
is
used to publish fully qualified host names in Active Directory.
Possible cause: The Active Directory schema has not been extended with
latest version of the SMS Active Directory classes and attributes.
Solution: Ensure the schema has been extended with the latest version of
the
SMS Active Directory classes and attributes. The schema can be extended
with
the tool "extadsch.exe" from the SMS directory on the SMS Site server
that
reported this message.
thanks for helping
steve
