If they are in the same forest, then there is automatically a trust between
them. Even if it's not a direct (shortcut) trust, you have transitive trust
between all domains in the forest.

You should be able to type the site code in, you don't have to select it
from the drop down. As long as you type the site code and site server
correctly, and have the correct accounts in place (which it sounds like you
do) then it should work.
