Re: New Install of SMS 2003

Definitely supported, and not in the "not recommended" bucket, though there
are definitely issues with GPO deployment, as outlined in the Clients FAQ
What is the difference between CCMSETUP.EXE, SMSMAN.EXE, CAPINST.EXE, and
CLIENT.MSI?
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sms/sms2003/techfaq/tfaq03.mspx
All of the client install methods have their benefits and their trade offs,
so we don't prescriptively say "use this one", just lay out the options.
There is also a discussion of the security issues with the client
installation methods as described in the updated Scenarios and Procedures
for SMS 2003: Security.
