Bill, you may want to verify that the management point and other site systems
for that site are properly set up. In the logs folder on the site server,
you should have logs for each site system setup. For example, if I recall
correctly, the setup log for the management point is msetup.log and the log
for the server locator point setup would be slpsetup.log. If there are
errors in these logs, then the systems are not properly set up and the
clients you push out will not be able to communicate after installation.
Since both the management point and the server locator point require IIS to
function, make sure you have enabled the BITS extensions in your IIS setup.
I'm pretty new to SMS 2003 as well so Jed please verify what I have written.
