Is the account you are logged in as part of the SQL Admins? Do you knwo the
security of the SQL server? Is it using mixed or integrated. If you log onto
the machine as a domain admin you should be able to open the SQL server and
check the logins and security. You will need to have this fixed prior to
making changes.
