Hi, Gicio,
It's possible that the reviewer's guide talks about installing on a DC just
to save lab machines, but we certainly don't require that. And the Scenarios
and Procedures book on deployment wouldn't say that's a requirement either.
You do have to have a DC somewhere because the site server must be a member
of a domain, but you don't have to install SMS on that DC. You haven't seen
your scenarios spelled out because they are supported and no additional docs
or caveats are needed.
