I'm having the same problem with some "roaming" users; people moving from
one site to another.
One way I found to solve the problem is this:
- Logon with administrator rights
- Put the user in the local administrators of the machine
- Logon with the user account
- Completely uninstall the client from the pc using the 20CLICLN.BAT
- Launch the SMSman.exe and use the "Specify installation Location" field.
- Take out the user from Local Administrators and logoff-logon again
