Have you had a look at this

Basiclly what you have to do is to install the software Updates site server role and configure the wsus server via that.

I've synchronized a couple of critical updates in WSUS and approved
them

so how can I use SCCM to download the updates?
the synchronized updates do not appear in the software updates node in
SCCM
neither in any other place
