Which client type option for push install was selected from the AdminUI? If
you use "Platform dependent" option, advanced client will be installed on
Win2K and later systems and legacy client on pre-Win2K systems.

Do the clients have the server service running?

Steve,
Thanks for the reply. We're running SMS 2003 SP2, we are installing it
through the client push option using AD discovery. The log files are
actually
the SMS_Client_Config_Mananger under the Site Status. So they're more
like
messages than log file....sorry.

I am running into several instances where the advanced client for SMS
2003
(single parent) is not installing on a machine that is running Windows
2000
or higher. The strange part is that although I know for a fact that
these
machines are at least 2000 (some are XP) the SMS log files say the
client
could not install due to the operating system being lower than Windows
2000.
If anyone has seen this and has any information I would greatly
appreciate
it. Thanks in advance.
What SMS 2003 service pack are you running? Which sms client log files?
How
are you installing the client?
