How is the SMSUniqueIdentifier generated?
Where does it depend on?
I don't know that this algorithm has ever been completely disclosed, it's a
combination of a bunch of different things, that has been described as each
GUID generated will always being unique in all space and time.
This article gives some insight in terms of what gets checked...

And, here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828367/en-us
"In SMS 2003, all clients are uniquely identified by a GUID. A GUID is a
combination of the client's media access control (MAC) address and the time
when the GUID is assigned. This combination produces a number that is
virtually always unique. The GUID assignment occurs during the SMS 2003
client discovery and installation processes. "
