Compliancy Numbers VS Collection #'s way off

Hello,
Hope this is an easy one. AD is showing I jave 412 Copmuters, SMS, All
Systems collection reports I have 490 total with 412 active clients. If I
check the All Sytems with SMS clients I do show 412. (We have NO Legacy
clients)This is good. What is not good is this. I ran the Scan tools
(Expedited) several times on different days to look at compliancy with the
most recent patches. We pushed the patches via SUS because my boss and I are
not confident SMS is working properly.
I have initiated a hardware inventory via Client Agents..Hardware inventory
client agents. on two seperate occasions, checked the client discovery
methods which we are using Heart Beat Discovery,AD Syatem Discovery and AD
System Group Discovery.
If I look at the Advertisement Status messages I have seen as high as 280
and no lower than 240 in the past two days. I have yet to see anything close
to the totals we believe to be accurate.
Any help with this would be wonderful
