Software Inventory Woes in SCCM 2007

I'm hoping I can get some help on this, as I've been banging my head against
my desk for a couple of days now to no avail. I have a number of clients
that have the SCCM 2007 client installed. I'm trying to collect a software
inventory of those clients, but it appears that the site server is
continuously sending resyncs to them. On the affected clients in the
InventoryAgent log, I see the following:

The inventory files seem to making their way successfully to our site
server, which then complains that the client is sending delta files without
ever having a full inventory performed, which is true since these clients
have only recently been installed on the workstations.
If my understanding of what a resync does is correct, doesn't a resync force
a full inventory? If that's the case, why am I never seeing a full software
inventory being performed on the clients?
Any assistance the forum can give would be greatly appreciated. It would
also help me save money on Advil for my head.
