SMS Collections based on BDD2007 Build version RegKey

I would like to create an SMS collection based on the following BDD2007
Build Version RegKey String value

"HKLM\Software\Microsoft\BDD 2007\Build Version"

It seems the sms_def.mof would need to be modified.

Q1. Is there another way?

Q2. What is the method of modifiying the sms_def.mof?

Q3. Has anyone did it for this key before?
